Private Label Face Sunscreen

Develop a facial sun-care product around destination-market rules, approved active route, sensorial target and compatible packaging. Luxa can review cream, fluid and lightweight lotion concepts without treating SPF as a universal cosmetic claim.

Product type
Facial sunscreen / sun-care fluid
Reference format
Cream, fluid, lotion or serum-like format
Development route
Private Label, OEM or ODM

State the destination country first. Active ingredients, SPF and broad-spectrum testing, water-resistance language, warnings and label format are market-specific.

Regulated category: formula, testing, claims, warnings and labelling require product- and destination-specific review before approval.

Product configuration

Start with the destination market, not an untested SPF number.

Sun care is regulated differently across markets. The active system, claims, testing, directions, warnings and label architecture must be planned as one pathway.

Product format
Cream, fluid, lotion or serum-like facial sun-care texture
Finish
Natural, dewy, velvet, makeup-friendly or low-residue sensorial target
Active route
Only destination-permitted UV-filter systems considered through technical review
Protection target
SPF, broad-spectrum and water-resistance targets remain subject to required testing
Packaging
Tube, airless pump or compatible protective component
Market pathway
United States OTC or other destination-specific cosmetic/drug route defined before development

No SPF, broad-spectrum, water-resistance, reef-safe or market-approval claim should be published before the specific formula, required testing and destination-market review are complete.

Customisation options

Build sun-care texture, protection pathway and packaging together.

A premium sensorial target cannot replace the regulated testing and label route. Both need to be resolved before launch.

01

Texture format

Choose cream, fluid, light lotion or serum-like application.

02

Finish target

Define glow, natural finish, velvet feel, low residue and makeup layering.

03

Tint direction

Discuss untinted or tinted routes where technically and legally suitable.

04

Active system

Review only UV filters and concentrations permitted for the intended market.

05

Protection testing

Plan the required SPF, UVA or broad-spectrum and any water-resistance programme.

06

Component

Match tube or airless pack to formula protection, dose and compatibility.

07

Fill and channel

Plan daily retail, travel or professional formats within applicable rules.

08

Artwork system

Reserve space for identity, directions, active information, warnings and net contents.

09

Destination dossier

Align responsible parties, testing records and market-specific documentation.

Product experience

Create a facial sun-care step customers can apply consistently.

Dispensing, spread, finish and layering matter to daily use, while protection claims remain tied to the tested finished formula.

  • At dispenseThe component supports repeatable facial application.
  • At spreadTexture and finish are assessed across the intended routine.
  • At launchOnly tested, destination-appropriate claims and directions reach the label.

From customisation to launch

Move from market pathway to tested formula and compliant pack.

Destination rules and protection targets are defined before formula sampling, testing, artwork and production approval.

Global Market-Readiness Support

Build the destination market into the product from day one.

Luxa supports product launches across the US, EU, Australia and Asia Pacific, with experience supporting 50+ international markets. Tell us where the product will be sold so the formula, packaging, claims and project documentation can be aligned for the destination.

This is development and documentation support, not a blanket compliance claim. Final market obligations depend on the product, claim set, responsible parties and destination.

Choose your development route

Choose the face sunscreen development route that fits your brief.

The right route depends on how much of the formula, benchmark and product specification is already defined.

Private Label

Begin with an established face sunscreen formula route, then customise the pack, size and branded presentation.

OEM

Manufacture against a defined formula, benchmark or technical and sensorial requirement supplied by your brand.

ODM

Develop a more original face sunscreen concept with Luxa, including formula direction, product experience and packaging route.

Buyer FAQ

Questions to resolve before development begins.

Can Luxa guarantee a specific SPF before testing?

No. SPF and related protection claims belong to the tested finished formula and applicable market pathway.

Is sunscreen a cosmetic in every country?

No. Classification and requirements vary. In the United States, sunscreens are regulated as over-the-counter drugs, so active ingredients, testing and labelling need that pathway.

Can I request a reef-safe claim?

This language is not a universal regulated standard and should not be used without a market-specific legal and substantiation review.

Can the sunscreen be tinted or makeup friendly?

Tint and layering targets can be included in the sensorial brief, subject to formula feasibility, shade planning and destination requirements.
